The fictional characters and historical figures are recognizable as fully human with all the poignancy that implies and without much glamour or mythical  treatment. But similar to Homer's Odyssey, our American story is a journey with characters who struggle for meaning and resolution in their lives. Ultimately, David came to realize that fictional literature is always concerned with history and has the potential to offer more truth than non-fiction. Historical fiction draws on the facts, sees the ideas and often finds the meanings. David’s  historical fictional novels have depicted our American tragedy, during the most powerful period of our history, surmounting our greatest challenge, with triumph over horrific circumstances affecting the lives of all our American people. He was present with Gredenko at 9421 Glasgow, and later assembled the drones at Shadow Valley. Klein was born in Syracuse, New York, but grew up in Maryland and Houston. He studied journalism at Auburn University. After that, Klein worked as a reporter during the day and a pro-wrestler at night. He then moved back to New York where he studied acting and later creative writing. He wrote The King of New Orleans about the wrestler Sylvester Ritter, a.k.a. the Junkyard Dog. He has written four plays, two unpublished novels and several spec screenplays. In his day job, he is the editor of The Cooperstown Crier and a writer for The Daily Star in Oneonta. In his free time, he is a soccer dad, is trying to get a baseball film made and is trying start a film office in the region.
