Comic Writer James Haick created the comic series Solar Flare (along with Branko Jovanovic) This comic book series is about a group of people brought together after the world's worst Solar Flare disaster, which leaves everyone with little to no electronics (similar to an electric magnetic pulse). The solar flare disaster acts as a backdrop for a story that highlights the human enigma via complex characters that blur the lines between right and wrong. The primary goal is for the group of main characters (8) to travel safely (in a world with no functioning modern transportation) from Florida to Tennessee to deliver valuable information to the government that will help save millions of lives. The story highlights their difficult journey through a now chaotic analog world. James is also the mastermind behind Jamestown Publishing, a multimedia and comic book publisher focused on bringing the work of independent creators to the forefront while encouraging creativity and diversity. Like most kids at a young age, Jeff Balke doodled with pretty much anything in his hand (crayons, markers, pens, pencils, chalk, rock on pavement…). Nothing could have made him happier. Up to about mid 2005, all Jeff wanted to do is illustrate comics. The beginning of his professional career was for a comic called Foxwood Falcons (After Hours Press). Then In 2008, Jeff created something called Sketch Coloring. This is where he takes a sketch cover of any comic book and color right on the actual cover with special markers. This is his way of creating a sketch. Since most colorists really don’t sketch “traditionally” (like Jim Lee, Micah Gunnell and so on…) he wanted to come up with his own way to give something to the fans so they can take home and have a “one of a kind”. Sketch Colorings do just that. No two Sketch Colorings are alike (even if he colors the same cover 100 times for 100 people). Books were her entertainment and augmented her very good education in German, Italian and American schools. Books were Patty’s lifeline, her ties to worlds she’d never see and to people and characters who enriched her life through their stories. She wrote the TetraSphere series as pure entertainment, and as a way to answer some of the unanswerable questions about our amazing universe. What if there are inhabited planets interacting with Earth? What happened to Atlantis? What do the giant etchings of Nazca mean, and why can they only be seen from the sky? Do dragons exist? What if the fate of our planet were in the hands of four young people, each with special abilities, and each with his or her own struggles?
