 82: 3 False Starts…The SFGE Story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:43:31

We're back from July travels with all kinds of great arcade and pinball talk and a few stories to boot from our time at the 2019 Southern-Fried Gaming Expo. Not only does the Panther travel to Atlanta in Business Class (not really... it was the front seat of Brent's car) it inspired a host of people who wanted to buy "Panther Vision" neon glasses! I think we've created a cottage industry by accident... In addition to the updates, news and (burning) spending of Brent's money (we buy flybacks, key locks and an Asteroids multi control panel, along with some other most excellent items) we're joined by Stern Pinball's own Mike Vinikour, Circus Maximus' James Loflin and the Grand Ole Gameroom Expo's David Corrigan. We may be travel weary this month, but that doesn't mean we didn't have a good time and turn up short for words!! Heck, we even speculate on Stern's next game (which proved itself to be a double-hitter: both Star Wars "The Pin" and Jurassic Park!!)

 81: The Name Dropper | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:22:09

We are in the fortunate position this month to have the esteemed Nicholas Baldridge of the "For Amusement Only: The E.M. & Bingo Pinball Podcast" sit in with us this month for tri-hosting duties as we run him through the (un)ceremonious wringer as we talk all things Pinball and the new publication "Coin-Op Carnival". If you've not heard of this publication, then please go check it out (https://www.coinopcarnival.com/) and then come back and listen to this episode. If you'd rather just dive right in, then here's the abridged version: Coin-Op Carnival is a joint venture with Nick and his co-creator Ryan Claytor (of Elephant Eater Comics) and is a 4-volume series that features interviews with E.M. Pinball game designer(s), an E.M. pinball game reviews, in-depth technical articles (E.M. tech explained, etc.), industry-related comics and more. It's great fun and it feeds the brain as well - we guarantee you'll learn something about the early days of Pinball or Brent will give you your money back! We also catch up on a bit of industry news, talk about a new arcade component reproduction that has literally been years in the making and lament the last call of Batman '66 before Stern "shuts it down forever". All this and more in 81!

 80: The Black Panther? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:21:39

We are back in the studio for ep. 80 and while we might not be as epic as our namesake MCU counterpart, we certainly think we bring it back home this month, if nothing else in the number of commutes for this episode! There's been much to catch up on and we run the gamut this month, discussing everything from updates on gameroom audio setups, pinball art blades, Texas Pinball Festival, a Neo-Geo MVS pickup, oscilloscopes, the new Coin-Op Carnival book release, rebuilding G07's and the K4600, spend some of Brent's money, discuss Black Knight Sword of Rage and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and.....well... you get the idea. :) We also add in a ton of feedback and it generated some great discussion, so thanks to everyone who submits and keep it coming! All up, we do our best super-hero podcasting for over 4 hours and this is all we have to show for it...CORRECTION - we do have a new mascot, but you'll have to listen to get the backstory on that!

77: The Day Late, Dollar Short Show | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:13:24

Well, well, well - it had to finally happen. We are a day late on show publishing and I wish we could blame it on border security, government shutdown or the polar vortex, but at the end of it all - it was a failure of our best friend (and arch nemesis): technology. It takes some time to move around the GIGABYTES of unprocessed audio we make for each month's show and by the time it lands at its final resting spot to become the MP3 we all know and love, our baritone has traversed its way from the moon and back (figuratively). Somewhere over Albuquerque, some archive files bit the dust and we had to retry (and retry) before there was success. But alas, we made it!! This month we have not only the usual gameroom and hobby updates, but we also hear from a first-timer to the show - Corey Stupp. Corey is the new face behind the Louisville Arcade Expo (and a developer at Stern Pinball) and gives us the low-down on everything we can expect from the 2019 show. We also hear from our friends at Marco Specialities as we do some more floor and booth interviews from the 2018 Grand Ole Gameroom Expo. We then spend some of Brent's money on my favorite things - Nintendo parts!! Oh - and a new CPS2 infinikey, joystick grommets and all kinds of necessities. We give our best thoughts on the new Munsters Pinball from Stern and then make way for some feedback as well. We may be a day late (and Brent is a dollar short) but we made it! Thanks for everyone asking "hey - where are you guys?!?!" Makes us feel loved.

 76: The Zebco 33 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:56:29

It's Christmas and New Years all squashed together and what better way to give 'ol 2018 the proper boot than to tell a bunch of arcade-related fishing stories (hence the title tie-in...get it?!?!?) and do absolutely no reflection whatsoever on the past year. Yep - we stick to the script and will get all gushy-eyed in January as we look forward to 2019! Speaking of the script... in checking out the show notes (which we have to do, because we cannot remember what we talk about) it looks like we cover off on the following: Brent's shopping of his Star Wars Ep1 and musings on his new Frogger The LM399 IC tester and building a "new" Sega Dreamcast Whitney's trip to Chicago with the guys from the 10 Pence Arcade Podcast Update on TNA and some stumbles with it Update on home/collection inventory management and some listener suggestions An interview with Larry Kitchen from Flip'N Out A review on optical gun games Spending Brents money on JAMMA testers and Punch Out adapters AND... news, listener feedback and our normal (boatload) of mistakes and future corrections! Best of the Yuletide spoodlings to you and yours from Brent and Whitney!

 75: The Number 2 Mic Drop | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:44:23

The feedback on the plumbing podcast was so strong, that we felt the need to butcher the house in the name of the show and bring you EVEN MORE PLUMBING TALK! It's true - you wanted more plumbing, you get more plumbing! Oh - we also managed to squeeze in a few things arcade and pinball related... you know...to pay the bills and all. This month we cover off on the following topics: *Star Wars Ep. 1 shop-out *Brent buys a Fluke 9010a and he *finally* gets a Frogger! *IC testers *Louisville Super Con *Thanksgiving recaps (MO TURKEY, PLEASE!!) *Whitney's TNA powdercoating and picking up a Time Pilot *Our visit to the Grand Ole Gameroom Expo and a quick interview with show organizer David Corrigan *News, Stern code updates and listener feedback and last, but certainly not least - our panel interview with Marco and Stern where we talk with Cale Hernandez (Marco), Rachel Bess (Marco/Electric Bat Arcade), Paul Mandeltort (Marco) and Mike Vinikour (Stern) about the history of the Pinball parts business, how Marco runs the largest Pinball parts resource on the planet and what it's like to partner with Stern to ensure we all have loads of brand new games to play at shows (and how Mike keeps them up and running for us all to enjoy). It's a recap roundup and a Pex patch to boot!

74: I can do that with spray foam! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:53:27

It's been a loooong 31 days since the last episode and we've had plenty of time to practice our signature moves on spending Brent's money, white-washing gameroom updates and making half-educated attempts at industry and hobby news coverage. Should that stop us this month? WE SAY NO! So in our best declaration of determination and comeuppance, we return for the October show and unfortunately there's nothing spooky about it - at all. However, we do have everything that you've come to know and love with the show as well as the following major topics: 1. Flashlights 2. ColorDMD 3. Flashlights 4. New Pinball announcements 5. Flashlights 6. Stern code updates 7. Flashlights 8. Spend Brent's Money 9. Flashlights 10. Flashlights (just to round it out). Yep - it's arcade and pinball podcasting, BT style!

 73: It’s a show…literally.. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:19:21

Oh literally...how do we love thee? Let me count thy ways...and it's a lot. So much so that we cover every topic from A to Z - literally. Brent goes to a comic-con where he sees literally EVERYBODY. He works on his Tron and has to fix literally EVERYTHING. His Thermoforming machine and 3D printer are literally STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS and his gameroom literally hasn't been touched in MONTHS. Whitney is no better - he has had his TNA for a week and just now got it moved into his house - LITERALLY! Add to that, he's got nothing better to do than spend Brent's money on a literal boatload of cool stuff (seriously - Wico joysticks, Neo Geo LED Marquee lights and a dual Punch-Out/Super Punch-Out adapter) this month. Pair that with some literally awesome feedback and some news and it all adds up to 4+ hours of arcade and pinball goodness! You'll literally LOVE this month's show! Figuratively - I think we're spot on.

 72: Chrome won’t get you home | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:48:58

Way better... that's the best phrase we know of to sum up August vs. July 2018. No plumbing issues (that we know of), no home repairs and no major calamities befell the podcast crew this month, so we were able to focus on what we do best - POSING as knowledgeable pinball and arcade hobbyists. With that poser status comes a lot of a poser updates on everything from Brent's new 3D printer, his thermoforming machine build, a massive parts haul and more. Whitney found a few fluke pods and is still posing as a pinballer while he awaits word on his TNA. We also catch up on a mini-review of the Hyperkin RetroN77 and pose as big spenders with Brent's money this month (seriously - check out the list) before chatting up the new Stern Pinball Deadpool. We top all this with a BOATLOAD (no posing required this month) of listener feedback that turned out to be as much (or more) fun than the actual show itself. Like the old saying goes "chrome won't get you home" but we sure pretended it did.

 71: The Frost-Free Spigot | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:34:53

July 2018 It's been said that we talk a lot. Truth be told - we do. I'm not sure if it's us liking to hear our own voice or if it's that we actually have something to say. Maybe it's somewhere in-between. Regardless, we give it our all every month and July is no different. We dig into some great (almost) gameroom updates - Brent discusses wiring up his air compressor and is looking to build a thermoforming machine! Yeah - you read that right - THERMOFORMING. Nothing is safe now. Whitney makes a sweet score on a Vectrex bundle, gets in his RetroN 77 and discusses some recent travels to boot. Add in some discussion around video test harnesses, testing pinball motors, a possible Warlords reproduction PCB, Red Tent reproduction CPOs and some discussion about "The End" for Major Havoc and you've got Ep. 71! Oh yeah - we also fix Brent's bathroom and a busted spigot at Whitneys' house. Home Repair show or arcade and pinball podcast???? YOU DECIDE.

 70: It’s All Upside! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:20:18

JUNE 2018 This month could have been called "the watchpot never boils" as we spend some time catching up on the summer and discussing several items that we've been waiting to bake... 1. Brent's return from the 2018 Southern-Fried Gaming Expo to hear about the capers and fun that was had down in Atlanta. 2. Whitney's TNA - oh, the sweet, sweet smell of waiting. 3. The Atari VCS 4. The Hyperkin Retron 77 5. Donkey Kong & Sky Skipper ON THE NINTENDO SWITCH!! Yeah - you read all of that right - we cover some seriously diverse ground this episode, all the while trying to figure out how to light up some Pixel Pals and just what the heck is up with the "Supreme" edition pinball from Stern??? I guess what they say is true - it's all about the benjamins. Summer heat is killing us, Brent can't remember a single person's name and we both have way too many words. Like we said on the show - IT"S ALL UPSIDE!!

 69: Give Me My Pancake! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:41:51

Well, well, well….the slacker (Whitney) is back in the studio and tries to carry his share of the water this month. Despite being a bit (LOT) out of practice after his unintentional hiatus we still manage to pull off a fun show full of gameroom and hobby updates (and banter), gift opening on air (always compelling radio, seeing as how no-one can see a thing), Iron Maiden pinball talk and spending of Brent’s money. What more did you expect? Quality??? pppffffttt…. Entertainment??? pppffffftttt…. FREE? You’ve got us there. LOCK AND LOAD.

 68: The “Ken Truax Hour” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:40:41

We are "back to basics" this month and are proud to turn the spotlight on the local collecting scene and allow Louisville-local collectors a chance at the mic to tell their story and talk about their perspectives on the current state of the arcade and pinball hobby. Truthfully - we don't get to do this enough. Whitney was out of town for work, so this seemed like the perfect chance to upgrade this month's show! To keep the 'regular' pace for the episode, Brent chats for a bit about his updates post Louisville Arcade Expo and discusses some initial perspectives on Stern's new Iron Maiden pin as well. Let us know what you think - would love some feedback on the format of this episode!
